CTD Privacy Policy

CTD collects only name and address information from donors. This information is used to maintain contact with donors. Donors may provide any other information such as personal interests, work experience, college degrees, family information, and so forth, with the assurance that this information will not be shared with anyone else.

We respect your email privacy.

The postal information that donors give us and contact information that they provide will be will be used only by our office for statistical and demographic information. Forms that we provide on our website, such as the Scholarship Applications, Registrations, Order Forms, and Donation Forms, will require personal information that will only be used for that specific purpose. However, persons responding on any CTD forms may have their names placed on a mailing list for future use, including sending them grant information, donor solicitations, scholarship news and information, conference notices, and the like.

This information may be used in future marketing efforts, to generate reports, and to notify them of any future announcements. Personal information about donors, including anything more than address information, will not be provided on any reports. The only information CTD will share on reports are name, address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Our website displays a counter but no personal information is collected from it. Donors who do not wish to share any information, including address information, with other organizations may indicated this on the Donor Response Card, in writing, and by e-mail.

This donor privacy policy of Catching the Dream explains why we collect information from donors and how we protect their privacy on our website. Donors should contact CTD directly if they have any questions about these policies. As the law or regulations dictate, CTD may change this policy from time to time. Any such changes will be posted on this website. Such changes will be dated and will be in effect as of the day of posting. What information we collect. CTD maintains donor records on a database called “Raiser’s Edge” from Blackbaud.

Our record forms ask donors to give us their name, address, phone, fax, and e-mail. They may provide other information such as occupation, interests, names of family members, employer, spouse information, and institutional memberships. We do not ask for sensitive information such as social security numbers. Information on credit cards and bank account information will be stored in hard copy files only, and not on computer records. All donor information is also stored in hard copy files in the CTD offices. These files are secured by lock and key as well as internal security.

How we use information. We use donor information to maintain correspondence with donors. We also share address information only with other nonprofit organizations on an occasional basis. Donors who do not wish to have their information shared should notify CTD to be placed in a “DO NOT SHARE” category. Donor information so flagged will be eliminated automatically from information-sharing files.

Security measures.
Only authorized CTD personnel will have access to donor information. Outside individuals will not have access to the CTD donor database or hard copy files. Other websites. CTD has contact with several hundred websites, list serves, college databases, scholarship providers, and data providers. None of these websites is linked directly to CTD, however. Donor information is not shared with these other sites. None of them is linked directly to the CTD website.

CTD provides donors an annual notice via mail to inform us if they do not want their name and address shared with other organizations. This is provided on the donor response form that is sent with all mailings.

Verification of information.
Donors are encouraged to contact CTD any time to review their information in the CTD database and in hard copy files. CTD will respond immediately to any requests for corrections, changes, and deletions. We never sell or rent your personal information.

CTD may also release personal information under the following circumstances:
Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation or is requested by a government agency; Where our records indicate a company may be engaged in fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a governmental agency should be made aware of; To appropriate governmental authorities. To appropriate persons, where your communication suggests possible harm to others.

Computer Tracking and Cookies
Our Web sites are not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our sites. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. CTD may use cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. You can still use CTD sites if your browser is set to reject cookies. Our cookies do not generate personal data, do not read personal data from your machine and are never tied to anything that could be used to identify you.

CTD encourages donors to contact us at any time at our web address, our street address, or our e-mail address to review any personal information collected and to request corrections and changes to their addresses.
